Angela's Trailing Wedding Bouquet
was right on trend

Angela was early to spot the growing trend towards a trailing Wedding Bouquet - otherwise known as 'shower' bouquets.

The pretty village church of St James Badsey was the setting for Angela and Christopher's wedding.

It was a warm, sunny late summer's day and the bells were ringing at the village church for Angela and Christopher. A simple tied bunch of flowers was hung on the lich gate to welcome the guests who mingled in the churchyard, remarking on the fabulous weather and each one eagerly awaiting the announcement that the Bride had arrived.

The inspiration for Angie's Trailing Wedding Bouquet

The colour purple was the first point of inspiration, when I met with Angie to discuss her ideas for her wedding flowers. There were lots of beautiful purple flowers to choose from and she was early to spot the growing trend towards shower bouquets and realised that this style was perfect for her.

A loose, flowing bouquet, filled with gorgeous roses, orchids, and freesia, highlighted with purple lissianthus was decided upon, with lots of trailing green foliage to set everything off. Although a small part of the overall weight of flowers, the purple tied everything with Angie's overall theme and linked perfectly with her table arrangements, bridesmaids' dresses and buttonholes.

A Purple lissianthus buttonhole was chosen for the groom, Christopher and pretty posies for the bridesmaids and her little flower girl, to match their striking purple dresses.

Pots of purple flowering lavender were placed at either side of St. James church doorway, providing colour and perfume.

The Riverside Hotel in Evesham was the venue for the reception. This hidden hotel is one with an amazing location, set high above the River Avon with gardens running down to the waters edge.

Bold and blousy purple hydrangea heads were tied together for the table arrangements and placed in clear glass fish bowls with clematis and jasmine vine. Mirrored place settings and shining crystals further added to the purple themed reception. The room was planned to perfection with iced cup cakes in tones of purple and lovely purple bows adorning the crisp white chair covers.

Careful attention to detail had ensured that Angela, Christopher and their guests enjoyed a purple patch!
