There is something special about Oxfordshire weddings and a special May day was the perfect time for Alex and Paul to choose for their wedding

The extra special touch

I had been looking forward to enhancing this perfect wedding, translating their ideas for wedding flowers and hopefully delivering that extra special touch on the big day.

As I made my first delivery to the bride and her bridesmaids at the lovely Hotel Du Vin in Henley On Thames,(where Alex had spent her pre-wedding night) I knew by Alex's expression that she was delighted.

Alex had chosen as her bridal bouquet, a shower of pure white phalaenopsis orchids. An elegant, style that complemented her sophisticated wedding gown. The rest of Alex and Paul's flowers followed a country theme.

The scene had been set. A pretty country church for Oxfordshire weddings, a favourite chosen venue for the reception and a lovely bride and groom.

Reception flowers at The Crooked Billet
This theme of white and dusky pink was maintained for the reception flowers at The Crooked Billet in Stoke Row, Henley and was enhanced by the lovely perfume of the wedding flowers. Peonies, with stocks and lilies adding a heady perfume.

Hanging baskets with fragrant blooms
Hanging baskets with fragrant blooms were placed by the doorway and the guests could enjoy their colour and perfume as they raised their glasses to toast the happy couple.
