Georgina and Matt's October Wedding Flowers

Georgina and Matt wanted their October wedding flowers to reflect the relaxed ambiance of their wedding.

With a nod to Georgina and Matt's origins of Canada and Ireland respectively, the flowers were styled to look as though they had been plucked from a nearby meadow.

Purple dill, green alchemilla mollis and vibrant bells of Ireland contrasted with dusky pink garden roses. To make sure that everything appeared very natural, soft stems of chamomile broke the formality of the bouquet and table pieces, bursting out relaxing the profile. A little dab of a brighter pink spray rose brought a splash of colour to lift the whole picture.

Georgina and Matt married on 1st October at The Fleece in Bretforton and the day could not have been more perfect. The sun was brilliant and bright and all around in the lovely orchard gardens of The fleece were reminders that it was indeed Autumn. It felt more like being in Italy where the seasons develop more quickly and are soon spent but where the sun shines for longer.

Guests mingled amongst the dappled trees, summer dresses brightly fluttering. A sense of expectation waiting for the Bride to arrive.

A cream vintage jaguar car appeared, looking very comfortable amongst the historic surroundings. Georgina looked amazing in her bias cut satin dress.

Cameras clicked and Georgina beamed and nodded a big "thank-you" to me for her October wedding flowers which she thought were perfect.

The barn at The Fleece was filled with her pots of flowers for her reception, dotted along the beams to bring colour and perfume into the ceremony. Fragrant bunches of herbs were hung from the benches where the guests were seated and a mossed lavender heart had pride of place on the ancient oak door of the barn.

And the sun continued to shine without a cloud in the sky. a perfect October wedding with perfect October wedding flowers.
