Oxfordshire Country Wedding Flowers

September is a beautiful month for Country Wedding Flowers and it was a style that suited Abi and Henry perfectly.

They were childhood sweethearts but parted when they were as young teenagers when Henry emigrated to Australia with his family. Abi also lived in Australia for a while but, years later, fate played her part when they were brought back together in the South Oxfordshire village where first met and they re-kindled their love and married.

Because they both felt that they needed to bring a part of Australia into their wedding flowers. We decided that we would have lots of fresh smelling eucalyptus foliage.

Abi favoured a very simplistic style of flowers and we met at their pretty cottage in the village of Brightwell Baldwin to discuss exactly how simple we should make the bouquets. As you can see from their pictures; less is more.

She chose an elegant overarm bouquet of ivory roses and lizzianthus which complimented her 'guipure' lace dress perfectly. The understated theme was echoed in the table arrangements. These were a varied collection of glassware that Abi had collected over some time, pre-empting the vintage trend that is so popular now. Each table held a different display of vases and flowers of white country flowers and pale blue/grey eucalyptus.

Their Oxfordshire country wedding was truly memorable. Old friends and village neighbours chipped in to add that extra something and be involved in their special day. From the horse drawn carriage loaned by a friend to the very grounds of Brightwell Park where their marquee stood, all in the very best of traditions helped to make this a very special day.
