Cotswold Country Wedding Flowers

Faye and Marc chose Cotswold country wedding flowers for their theme.

Faye and Marc had fallen in love with The Cotswolds and chose to tie the knot at the lovely Caswell House which is nestled in the gentle Oxfordshire countryside, close to Oxford and convenient for London.

Caswell House has a relaxed country atmosphere and this is what Faye wanted to capture with her Cotswold Country Wedding Flowers. The ceremony took place in the stunning barns within a courtyard setting.

Faye's simple but effective bouquet encompassed two different white roses. Small 'Akito' together with sweetly perfumed 'Norma Jean'.

Her bridesmaids had three different roses - 'Akito', 'Norma Jean and 'Splendid'; the latter having a slightly pink blush centre.

Ideas evolve at your wedding consultation, and we added a very personal touch to Faye's original thoughts on her flowers. Cream enamel jugs brimming with soft country flowers and grasses were the starting point. We then decided that we at Rose and Grace could personalise their jugs with a hand painted inscription of their names and the date to immortalise their wedding day which made their table arrangements truly unique. The main pedestal was a glorious mixture of Cotswolds summer wedding flowers - blue agapanthus, white agapanthus, dill, astrantia - 'million stars', nigella -'love in a mist', stocks, lilac and white alchemilla mollis, tall baby blue delphinium, blue and white larkspur and 'Norma Jean', 'Splendid' and 'Dolomiti' roses, all set off to perfection with eucalyptus foliage

In keeping with the setting and the country theme we decided that the niches of the barn needed some colour. Large pots of heavily scented lavender were tied in hessian with a raffia bow and placed in the window niches. They filled the air with their perfume. This is a simple idea, but often good floristry is about the styling and visualization as much as traditional floristry skills.
